Princess Eugenie and long-term boyfriend of seven years married on October 12, 2018. The spectacular ceremony, which was televised for millions to watch, was held at St George’s Chapel in Windsor, the same venue used by Meghan Markle and Prince Harry when they wed last May. Three days after the Queen’s granddaughter got married, the Duke and Duchess of Sussex announced they were expecting a baby in the Spring of 2019 and Princess Eugenie could now follow in Meghan’s footsteps.
How Eugenie could follow Meghan and announce royal baby NEXT MONTH
On October 15, 2018, three days after Princess Eugenie and Jack Brooksbank said “I do”, the Duke and Duchess of Sussex announced Meghan’s pregnancy.
The announcement came approximately five months after the two got married on May 19 last year, and Princess Eugenie could make a similar statement – five months after she walked down the aisle herself.
Next month will be Jack and Eugenie’s five-month wedding anniversary and recent bets suggest a baby announcement is right around the corner.
Bookmaker Coral makes it odds on, at 1/2, that Princess Eugenie announces she is expecting her first child with new husband Jack Brooksbank in 2019.
The odds have tumbled from 3/1 over the last few days in the wake of speculation that an announcement could come sooner rather than later.
Initially, punters assumed the royal would wait before starting a family, but now believe she could soon be expecting her first child.
Coral’s Harry Aitkenhead said: ”We’ve had betting on when Princess Eugenie and Jack Brooksbank will have their first child ever since the couple tied the knot back in October, and originally we had thought they would wait a while before starting a family.
“However speculation has been rife that the pair could reveal very soon that they are expecting and this has caused our odds to tumble on a 2019 pregnancy announcement.
“It’s now heavily odds on that they do confirm this year that another Royal baby is on the way.”
A royal expert has also revealed a clue that could suggest the newlyweds will soon announce a pregnancy.
Royal author Robert Jobson told Express.co.uk: “The royals do tend to have babies quite soon after they are married.”
This corresponds with previous royal pregnancies – with the Queen, Princess Diana and Meghan Markle all announcing pregnancies within a year of tieing the knot.
And recently, Princess Eugenie dropped a major clue on her Instagram account which could imply some big news are coming.
On January 22, the 28-year-old posted a photo of herself and husband Jack on Instagram writing: “#tbt to exactly this day last year – Jack and I announced our engagement.
“What a year it’s been since then and how exciting for 2019.”
