Coronation Street's Dolly-Rose Campbell comes out as bisexual and makes

Coronation Street star Dolly-Rose Campbell has come out as bisexual and has credited Manchester Pride with helping her accept her sexuality.

The soap star now wants to use her experience to help others come to terms with theirs, as she looks to become an ambassador for gay pride.

The Daily Star has reported that Dolly, who plays Gemma Winter in the popular ITV soap, had been a long-time supporter of the festival in Manchester.

The 31-year-old star said: “I have been coming to pride for over a decade now.

“The love and acceptance shown by the people of Manchester allowed me to accept my bisexuality and be proud of who I am.”

Now that she has taken this big step, she now wants to focus on helping others come to terms with their sexuality.

Dolly-Rose has become an ambassador for Manchester Pride and has spoken about the role.

She said: “The work that Manchester Pride does thoughout the year to engage with and create opportunities for people in Manchester’s LGBTQ+ community and beyond makes a huge difference to so many people’s lives.”

Dolly-Rose has already taken steps to make a difference by voicing the new advert for Manchester Pride, with this year’s festival being held on August Bank Holiday Monday.
