We all know him in the public eye as our Taoiseach, but in his private life away from the Dáil and newsrooms Leo Varadkar is loved up with his partner Dr Matthew Barrett.
Both from medical backgrounds, Leo and Matt share a few common interests, such as fitness, and the pair go on regular hikes and runs together.
The pair keep in touch via FaceTime as Leo is busy with his work in Ireland.
Although they keep their relationship to themselves and shy away from the spotlight, they have at times given people a glimpse into their private lives and it is believed they have been together since 2015.
Leo and Matt currently do not have any children together.
In his campaign to become Taoiseach in 2017, Leo gushed about Matt to the Irish Independent.
He told them: “Matt is just a very special person. Someone who is unconditionally on my side, which is always great.”
“He is the kind of person who has made me a better person.”
“I know I sound like bloody Jack Nicholson in As Good As It Gets, but it’s true.”
“Matt is definitely cleverer than me, which occasionally I can find intimidating.”
“He is very, very intelligent. He can read faster than me. He can do calculations faster than me. He is very bright. He is a Gaeilgeoir as well.”
“And although he is not really party political, it is amazing how quickly he understands politics. He gets it really quickly.”
