Others evacuating for safety or raising the alarm included Lady Gaga, former EastEnders star Patsy Palmer, actor Charlie Sheen, who could not find his dad, and One Direction star Niall Horan who urged people to leave the area.
Some praised the “hero” firefighters and pop singer Katy Perry blasted President Donald Trump’s response to the crisis, labelling him “heartless”.
The Kardashian family, including Kim and Caitlyn Jenner, were some of the first to leave the area, with reports suggesting the latter’s house had burnt down.

Lady Gaga said she was concerned for her property and said firefighters and emergency services were “true heroes”.
She tweeted: “I am thinking so deeply for everyone who is suffering today from these abominable fires & grieving the loss of their homes or loved ones.
“I’m sitting here with many of you wondering if my home will burst into flames. All we can do is pray together & for each other. God Bless You.”

Two and a Half Men star Charlie Sheen pleaded for help as he had been unable to contact his Hollywood star father Martin Sheen and mother Janet.
He wrote on Twitter: “i cannot get ahold of my parents, Martin and Janet Sheen. they are in the group, at the staging ground near Zuma Beach.
“If anyone has eyes on them, please let me know that they are safe and sound in the middle of this horrific scenario.”

Sheen’s ex-wife Denise Richards evacuating the area with her “furry children” and said her daughters had also been taken to safety.
She wrote on Instagram: “We love our community £malibu so devastating… taking us hours to evacuate. Girls are safe. @aaronwilliamcameron & I trying to get out with our furry children.
“Be safe everyone… so emotional seeing the devastating loss of homes, families & animals.”

Bad Boys star Will Smith posted a dramatic video to Instagram showing the flames raging on a hillside near his home.
He said that his daughter Willow, 18, was “nervous and made me go outside and make a Daddy assessment” of the situation.
“The fire is right there. That is very scary. We are prepared to evacuate as soon as we get the word” he adds, urging people in the evacuation zone to “go now!”

Later, he added: “The smoke is really close now and for the first time I can see fire. There is fire,” he said, before filming a plane that had been dumping water on the blaze.
“We are not in the evacuation zone, but I don’t like it, so we are going to go.”
Former EastEnders star Patsy Palmer, who played Bianca Jackson on the soap and now lives near Los Angeles, said she was also forced to leave her home.
Alongside a picture of a smoke-filled sky, the actress wrote: “Praying for everyone that lost there homes today. We made it out safe. Mother Nature … wow praying for everyone in Malibu & Thousand Oaks.”
