Strictly's Stacey Dooley could be REPLACED after 'hating this week's dance'

Stacey Dooley’s Strictly dance partner, Kevin Clifton, has joked that he might replace her for this week’s live performance, as she’s not loving the waltz.

The dancing duo appeared on It Takes Two yesterday and host Gethin Jones quizzed them on how they were getting on with their dance this week.

“Quick word on the dance,” Gethin said to Stacey and Kevin. “Moon River – beautiful.”

“Yes, we’re doing the waltz to Moon River,” Kevin replied before asking his partner sarcastically: “You’re loving it aren’t you?”

Stacey nodded – but looked far from enthusiastic.

Gethin said to another Strictly contestant nearby: “Graeme Swann, Graeme Swann, what do you think Stacey is making of the waltz?”

“If she don’t want to do it, I’ll do it with Kev,” he laughed. “Oh, what a song.”

Earlier in the show, viewers saw Stacey struggling with the slow dance. She said: “I thought I would be fine at the waltz. I thought I’ve got the ballroom, I’ll be good to go. But actually it’s tricky.”

Kevin added: “I’m not taking it easy on Stacey in this dance, I’m putting in a lot of complicated choreography.’

Discussing the specific aspects she struggled with she explained: “It’s so slow.”

Just last week, Stacey damaged her intercostal muscle – the muscles that run between the ribs – from dancing the tango.

The BBC Three presenter uploaded an cryptic picture on Instagram of a woman in a plaster cast.

She wrote ‘current sitch’ to her 300,000 followers – and it appeared her participation in the show was on a knife-edge.

But fans of the show – and of course its hysterical producers – were soon able breath a little more easily after she confirmed she hasn’t broken any bones.

Posting a picture from her hospital bed, she said: “Nothing’s broke! All the drugs and all the cuppas hook us up. See you Sat!”

She later said she almost vomited from the pain: “On the Monday we were training and I thought my muscle is going. Then bang. I hit Kev and I felt a tear. I was like, ‘I’m going to throw up.’

“Do you know when you hit your head and it’s so painful you think you are going to throw up everywhere?

“We had choreographers there and I felt embarrassed so I swallowed my sick- sorry, sorry TMI.”
