Spice Girl Mel B thinks her 'joke' stopped Posh joining reunion tour

Mel B reckons her old pal Victoria Beckham snubbed the Spice Girls reunion because she called her a “bit of a bitch” during an interview.

The pair have been at loggerheads for years over Posh’s refusal to return for any kind of music comeback and a pal said Scary Spice felt she had “lost her sense of humour about their friendship”.

As Mel and bandmates Emma Bunton, Mel C and Geri Horner prepare for next year’s long-awaited reunion tour, Victoria is still absent from the line-up.

And friends say Mel believes her attack on her during a US podcast about her and husband David was the “final straw”.

Mel said in the 2016 chat with Allegedly: “She’s just a little bit of a bitch to people.

“But she is down to earth with a great sense of humour.”

She then added that the Beckhams were “King and Queenish” but also admitted that the entire group could be “bitches at some point”.

The source, a business associate of Mel, said: “Mel thought the bitch comment was the end of the line after years of stresses and strained times between them.”

They said Mel felt the outburst “led to tensions growing ever since and the divide widening”.

The source added: “From that point Mel and Victoria really had nothing much to say to one another.

“Mel felt she was being frozen out because Victoria had a sense of humour failure but Victoria just saw her as a liability. And publicly it looked that way for two years with Mel continually talking about Spice reunions and then nothing happened.

“To us, Mel seemed to even antagonise Victoria too by claiming she was on board, knowing it would p*** her off.

“Sure, they posed up for that Instagram photo earlier this year, but that was just for show. Mel and Victoria’s relationship is now non-existent.”

This week, Mel again claimed Posh would appear at the Wembley shows, only for her to deny it.

The LA-based source added: “That was Mel cheekily poking the bear again.”

A spokesman for Victoria said she had not heard the podcast.
