Live updates as M50 closes while emergency services deal with crash

The M50 is partially closed to traffic after a crash earlier this morning.

The collision happened southbound at the J16 Cherrywood at around 9am.

Emergency services are at the scene and there are delays building on approach.

AA Roadwatch says: “Emergency services are dealing with a collision that is fully blocking the M50 southbound at J16 Cherrywood. Delays are building on approach.”

The collision was initially just blocking the right lane, but the road has been closed in order to allow emergency services to work to clear the scene.

Elsewhere in the city there are no major delays to report but there are some delays on the Swords Road from Collins Avenue through to Drumcondra.
