Ireland fly-half Johnny Sexton was once again a target of an off the ball tackle during Saturday’s visit of Argentina at the Aviva Stadium.

Sexton was flattened by Dragons and Wales number eight Ross Moriarty earlier this season and has once again fell victim to an off the ball tackle after Argentina hooker Agustin Creevy smashed the Leinster out-half after he had passed the ball.

Moriarty claimed after his yellow card against Leinster that Johnny Sexton gets extra protection from referees but ex-teammate and former Ireland captain Brian O’Driscoll dismissed the notion last month and highlighted multiple instances where Sexton has been targeted by opposition teams in the past.

“I don’t know if Ross Moriarty has been looking at some of the footage of Six Nations over the last couple of years,” O’Driscoll told BBC Sport NI.

“He [Sexton] got a little bit of treatment in the England game two years ago. I [also] remember a [Yoann] Maestri hit that went unpunished.”
