The M50 is blocked to traffic this morning following a collision and delays are beginning to build.

The collision is on the southbound side at J16 Cherrywood and emergency services have rushed to the scene.

There are delays building on approach.

AA Roadwatch says: “Emergency services are dealing with a collision that is fully blocking the M50 southbound at J16 Cherrywood. Delays are building on approach.

The collision was initially just blocking the right lane, but the road has been closed in order to allow emergency services to work to clear the scene.

Elsewhere in the city there are no major delays to report but there are some delays on the Swords Road from Collins Avenue through to Drumcondra.

But there are still delays. On the northbound side, emergency services are continuing to deal with a collision.

Dublin Fire Brigade have dealt with one collision

But they now have to deal with another on the other side of the motorway

There’s now a collision on the northbound side of the M50, also at J16 Cherrywood. One lane is currently blocked.
